How to Look Natural While Reading a Script on Camera

Reading a script does not have to look like reading a script. Follow these five steps to deliver any video, lesson, or sales pitch with natural eye-line and pacing.

1. Place your script near your camera

Move the teleprompter window close to your webcam or camera lens to reduce visible eye movement.

2. Increase your text size

Use larger text so your eyes do not need to scan across the screen as much.

3. Use pacing customization

Adjust the scroll speed, pause when needed, and slow down important sections for a more natural delivery.

4. Break your script into short sections

Shorter paragraphs make the script easier to read naturally while recording.

5. Practice before recording

Do one practice pass to test speed, pacing, camera placement, and delivery.
